Abdoulaye Doucoure makes unbelievable demand just one day after announcing Everton exit

After much conjecture, Abdoulaye Doucoure announced on Tuesday that he was leaving Everton after five years.

Doucoure was distraught when he was substituted against Southampton over the weekend, sparking speculation over his impending future.

He seems to have already decided to leave.

Doucoure supposedly had a contract offer from Everton, but chose to explore a new challenge.

Saudi Arabia is one option he could now pursue.

It was recently reported that the Saudi firm Al-Shabab has presented a contract bid to Doucoure.

However, it was only worth roughly £58,000 per week, which is far less than his current salary at Everton.

However, TEAMtalk reports that Doucoure is not ruling out a move to Saudi Arabia following his decision to quit Everton.

He would travel there, but he wants £160,000 per week, which is equivalent to £8 million per year.

It is also said that Doucoure has options in Turkey and Germany, albeit no clubs are currently available.

Doucoure exit can open the door for Harrison Armstrong at Everton

Doucoure’s decision to leave Everton was definitely the right one.

Everton obviously expressed a desire to keep him, but no agreement was achieved, and the two parties have parted ways.

Everton will buy new midfielders this summer, but Doucoure’s departure could open the door for youthful Harrison Armstrong at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Armstrong shone in the second half of the 2024/25 season with Championship side Derby County and hopes to be more engaged with the first squad next season.

Fans would want to see an academy graduate play regularly at the new stadium next season, so maybe David Moyes will believe in the prodigy.
