Chelsea make up for Everton’s Liam Delap blow by putting two David Moyes targets available for cut price

Everton suffered a setback on Thursday when Liam Delap agreed to join Chelsea.

Why Liam Delap chose Chelsea and not Everton despite positive David Moyes talks

The Friedkins will not want to dwell on the transfer failure, as Everton has a busy summer ahead.

David Moyes met with Delap about a possible move to Merseyside, but the teenager elected to play for the Europa Conference League champions instead.

Everton has to be active this summer after a quiet January under the Friedkins.

With the PSR constraints removed, there are no more excuses, and Everton has already agreed to sign Carlos Alcaraz.

Moyes will be pleased to see that one practically completed, but the club will require some significant signings in the coming months.

And with Chelsea eager to shed some of their players, there could be some upsides to Delap’s signing.

Everton are hoping to fill four crucial roles this summer when the market opens for business.

Following Delap’s agreement with Chelsea, the Toffees could attempt to sign two of their January transfer targets.

According to ESPN, Chelsea has told a handful of their players that they are available for sale this summer. Todd Boehly is open to offers for Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka, who haven’t played much at Stamford Bridge.

Everton expressed an interest in Chukwuemeka earlier this year, hoping to secure a deadline-day transfer for the midfielder.

A similar situation occurred with Chilwell, who Everton intended to sign on loan, but ended up winning the FA Cup as a Crystal Palace player.

Some may have had misgivings about signing Chilwell in January, but the Englishman has excelled throughout his time at Selhurst Park.

Everton could make Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall return

Everton has showed interest in a number of Chelsea players this year.

Everton also likes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, however his role under Enzo Maresca has been drastically curtailed since the pair moved from Leicester City to Chelsea.

This summer, clubs will undoubtedly return for the midfielder, who has struggled in London with little Premier League minutes.

Moyes is looking to add a midfielder to his team this summer, but it will be intriguing to see whether the Toffees can make any deals with Chelsea.

They surely owe Everton one after signing Delap.
