Thomas Müller To LAFC Update

According to a report by Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Michel Schröer, Bayern Munich veteran Thomas Müller has reportedly rejected an initial offer from Major League Soccer club LAFC. This development comes despite Bayern Munich’s endorsement of a potential move, as LAFC is a partner club.

The report indicates that Müller has not yet made a definitive decision regarding the continuation of his career, and a resolution may take time. The offer from LAFC is currently considered to be below Müller’s financial expectations, leading to a pause in negotiations. A delegation from LAFC had visited Munich to present their plans to Müller. Bayern Munich is said to be supportive of the transfer due to their partnership with LAFC and is reportedly assisting in seeking sponsorships, though without success thus far. While discussions with LAFC are not concluded, the MLS club would need to significantly improve their offer to secure Müller’s services. Otherwise, other MLS clubs are reportedly prepared to enter negotiations.

For his part, Müller appears unpressured by the ongoing uncertainty about his future plans. He indicated that he does not intend to address his professional future seriously until after the Club World Cup. “I’m completely relaxed about it. Even if something happens during the tournament regarding my professional future, I won’t let it distract me. I’m constantly thinking about my future, especially the short-term. And that is here at the Club World Cup; that’s my main focus,” Müller stated. He humorously added, “Maybe you [journalists] will know before me, like last time [about not being offered a new Bayern contract].”
