Gordon has lived in Newcastle for some years after moving from Merseyside.

And since leaving Everton, the winger’s relationship with some supporters has deteriorated.

Despite having a promising start on Tyneside, Gordon was rumoured to be looking for a move to Liverpool this summer.

Ironically, Newcastle’s first piece of trophy in 70 years came from a game against the Reds at Wembley over the weekend.

Gordon had to watch the game from the stands, but he said something afterward that Everton fans will enjoy hearing.

Since leaving, the winger has shared some questionable comments about Everton’s city rivals.

Gordon predicted Liverpool to win the league earlier in the season, with his ties to the Reds surfacing once again.

However, in an interview with Pro Direct, Gordon mentioned something about Liverpool that may win over some Everton fans.

When asked which team he enjoys scoring against the most, Gordon gave a sly response by writing Liverpool.

“It’s a good answer, but I think it’s going to cause some trouble,” he said.

Gordon has admitted his family all support Liverpool, so his latest comments will naturally frustrate some of those closest to him.

But the fresh dig at Liverpool is one which may well get some of those at Goodison Park back on side.

Anthony Gordon’s record against Liverpool

Frustratingly, Gordon was unable to find the back of the net for Everton during his games in the Merseyside Derby.

The England international is actually yet to even taste three points against the Reds, but he has been able to find the back of the net twice.

Gordon’s first goal against Liverpool came back in 2023 for Newcastle and he did not hide away from celebrating against his family’s club.

He has gone on to score another goal in a Newcastle shirt against Arne Slot’s side late last year at St. James’ Park.

But Everton fans would have loved to see him score against them during his time at Goodison.
