Newcastle United hope to keep Alexander Isak away from Liverpool and Arsenal.
The 25-year-old is in high demand as Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever enjoys another successful season.
He has 23 goals for the Magpies in the 2024/25 season, and Isak was on fire for Sweden in their victory over Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
Toon chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan wants to keep Isak at St James’ Park, and fans are hope it happens.

Liverpool’s stance on signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle United
However, the belief at Anfield is that Alexander Isak will become a Liverpool player.
That is according to TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, who spoke with Geordie Boot Boys about what Liverpool sources believe to happen with the Swedish striker this summer.
“There is confidence at Liverpool that they are going to sign Alexander Isak,” he said.
“They think he is moving, and they are confident of getting him. Liverpool believe they are favourites ahead of Arsenal.”
While Liverpool insiders believe that they are in pole position to land Isak, the reason for their optimism is unknown.
Liverpool could offer players in exchange for Alexander Isak
If someone signs Isak, it will cost a lot of money. It has been predicted that Isak will cost more than £120 million this summer.
One idea is to include players in the transaction, with Bailey telling Geordie Boot Boys that Liverpool might offer Newcastle four players plus cash.
“There has been talk of players going the other way, which is not a massive surprise given the Anthony Gordon and Joe Gomez situation last summer,” he said.
“There are other players at Liverpool who Newcastle like, such as Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak.”
Newcastle United’s current Alexander Isak stance
While Liverpool attempts to place itself at the front of the queue, Newcastle is determined to retaining Isak on Tyneside.
That could depend on whether he signs a new contract, with Newcastle willing to make Isak their top earner.
“Newcastle are still hoping that Isak signs a new deal with them, but from a Liverpool point of view they think they can get him,” Bailey added.
“He looks likely to be their primary target this summer.
“It will likely come down to the player. He has a contract at Newcastle until 2028, but it is not quite that simple in football.”
The Magpies want to tie Isak down to a new contract, while qualifying for the Champions League will also strengthen their position.
