Everton defeated Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday, and Anthony Gordon left the Toffees seething.
On May 25, David Moyes’ team headed to St James’ Park, with the hosts hoping to secure a spot in the Champions League next season.
The Blues were level at halftime after creating a few chances, with Jordan Pickford making some vital stops on the other end, and Carlos Alcaraz put them ahead in the 65th minute to earn a 1-0 victory.
While tensions were under control for the majority of the first 45 minutes, the Tyneside club’s 24-year-old winger, who left the Merseyside team in 2023, enraged Ashley Young.
Young seethes at Gordon for dive in Newcastle v Everton
According to Michael Dawson, Young was furious at Gordon when the forward appeared to dive in front of the defender.
The 39-year-old was suspicious of the 24-year-old’s antics when up against him, and he was upset when he went down lightly, ordering the winger to stand up.

Mike Dean also responded to the former Toffees forward’s conduct with a humorous remark.
Dawson told Sky Sports News (25 May, 16:33): “Every time Gordon gets it, he runs straight to Young. Young raises his hands, as if to say, “I won’t touch you because I know you’re going down.” I have seen it again; he does that.
“Young is absolutely seething. He goes over to Gordon and says, get up, you’re diving. And I think he did.”
When asked about Gordon’s dive, Dean said: “Just a little bit of a dive.”
Moyes has built impressive team at Goodison Park
Moyes has impressed in the Premier League, and more will be expected of him at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Scottish manager has reversed the tide at Goodison Park, where there were worries of relegation under Sean Dyche.
The Blues are on track to finish 13th in the league rankings, which is higher than fans predicted a few months ago.
Everton fans dislike Gordon since he departed the club midway through the 2023 season as they were fighting relegation.
The Toffees will now seek to begin a new era at Bramley-Moore Dock in the coming season, and Moyes has done well to earn support in the upcoming transfer window.
With the Blues’ final game of the season approaching, planning for next summer will definitely be in the works.
The Merseyside outfit’s fans have a lot to look forward to, and it’ll be intriguing to see how things play out in the coming months.
