Morgan Gibbs-White has demonstrated unquestionable skill once more for Nottingham Forest in the 2024/25 season.
Since joining Forest from Wolves, Gibbs-White has played an important role in the club’s survival in the Premier League for two seasons before qualifying for Europe this season.
Forest will compete in the UEFA Conference League rather than the Champions League, but despite a determined chase for the highest club tournament, any type of European involvement constitutes a successful campaign.
Manchester City has shown interest in Gibbs-White this season, and Sunday’s game against Chelsea could be the final time Forest fans see their beloved number 10.
Morgan Gibbs-White sends message to Nottingham Forest fans
As the dust settles from the weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, the players are taking to social media to express their gratitude to the fans ahead of the summer.
Neco Williams and Murillo shared their comments over the weekend, and now Gibbs-White has followed suit from his vacation before England duty calls.
Gibbs-White wrote: “24/25. What a season with this wonderful team. From fighting relegation to returning to Europe 30 years later. We appreciate your unwavering support this season. You have been great.”
The Forest player will now look to get some minutes under Thomas Tuchel after receiving a Three Lions call-up, with the friendly against Senegal taking place at the City Ground.
Forest fans shouldn’t worry about Gibbs-White message
Gibbs-White’s association to Manchester City has left some fans concerned, as the Forest player did not post’see you next season’ or anything similar on his message.
However, it’s worth noting that Gibbs-White did not include such a phrase in his end-of-season address the prior two seasons he was at Forest.
In today’s world, players are media-trained, which means that every social media post is carefully scrutinised to ensure that nothing comes back to bite them in the future.
If Gibbs-White writes ‘See you next season, Forest supporters’ on his Instagram post and then quits, he will face a lot of criticism from the fan base, and he is merely treading carefully.
Forest believes the scenario is a win-win. If Gibbs-White stays, that’s terrific; if he doesn’t, the Reds will receive a huge cash boost to improve the quality of their playing roster.
