“You’re not,” Celtic hero Chris Sutton put Robbie Savage in his place as he rates Celtic’s season out of ten, with a brutal jab at the Macclesfield manager for mocking the 2003 UEFA Cup team’s achievement

Despite Celtic’s regret at losing the Scottish Cup and the treble, a league and cup double, as well as Champions League progression, is an excellent return from manager Brendan Rodgers.

Robbie Savage shares what he really thinks of Brendan Rodgers and still annoys Celtic hero Chris Sutton

The Celtic manager has already won four out of six titles in his first two seasons since Rodgers returned to the club, and fans have many fond memories.

However, Chris Sutton gave Rodgers a ten out of ten for his season and used a similar put-down on Robbie Savage’s managing record.

Celtic fans have heard the long tired old argument that anyone can win the Scottish Premiership with the budget the Parkhead club have.

Well, this time, Sutton turned the tables on that and hit Robbie Savage with the same put-down Celtic fans are tired of hearing.

Sutton told BBC 606, “Oh, Celtic. Nine out of ten. Progressed in the Champions League.

“Really progressed in the Champions League. And another double, Rob. So nine. What about Macclesfield?”

Savage: “Ten.”

Sutton: “You’re not a ten, you’ve bought the league, Rob. I mean, anybody could have done what you did this season at Mac. I’ll give Mac a five. Okay, well done for going up.

Savage: “Macclesfield fans broke every record going in the history of the Northern Premier League.”

Other occasions Celtic hero Chris Sutton has put Robbie Savage in his place

It’s not the first time Sutton has mocked Savage. Sutton chastised the BBC analyst for making disparaging remarks about Celtic great James Forrest, claiming that he should score every season at Celtic.

Sutton also contested Savage’s statements about Celtic in the Champions League, in which the Macclesfield manager derided the team’s 2003 UEFA Cup success.

When it came to Savage’s strange claim that Rangers would be the form club ahead of Celtic by the conclusion of the season, Sutton pointed to the gap at the top of the table to dispel his lunacy.

Savage never truly learns, does he?
